This class is first and foremost a safety checkout, with a hands-on project second. Passing the class certifies you to use the forge without an instructor present, so we take safety seriously. You'll learn the essentials of working safely around fire, hot metal, and heavy tools before moving on to a simple beginner project.
Please note that this is a pass/fail class. Participants who don't demonstrate diligence in following safety practices may not pass. At the end of the session, the instructor may ask review questions to confirm everyone has been paying attention, and missing key safety questions can result in a failed checkout. Come ready to listen, ask questions, and work carefully.
