Got something broken? Bring it in. Fixed By Flint is a free repair event at Factory Two where a crew of volunteers will take a crack at whatever you drag through the door. Instruments, vacuums, computers, mixers, power tools, yard tools, if it used to work and doesn't anymore, it's worth the trip. The goal is zero dollars out of your pocket. We work with what we've got: parts on hand, the tools of the space, and a bunch of people who like to fix things. If we hit a wall and something truly needs a part we don't carry, we'll tell you what it is and where to find it. But that's not the plan. No appointment. No fee. Show up and see what we can do.

We've expanded our popular Making Saturdays Awesome program to include sessions for older kids. Kids 12-18 can join us every Wednesday from 2:30 - 5:30 P.M. for free Making Weekdays Awesome! sessions. Each session provides a nutritional snack and an instructor guided activity. Kids will take their completed work home at the end of the day. Our inaugural session will be homemade ice cream in a bag (okay, this one might not make it home, but we'll send the recipe!)

Community Garden: Garlic

Now is the time to plant garlic! This crop will over winter in the bed with short green shoots peeking out from the snow. Garlic has 2 different types of harvests if you pay close attention. We will be discussing the type and varieties that grow best in our area as well as how to cultivate, harvest and store. We will experiment with regular store bought garlic, organic store bought and garlic specifically generated for planting.

Stitch & Switch at Factory Two

Got clothes you're done with? Bring them in. Stitch & Switch is a free clothing swap at Factory Two. Drop off what you're not wearing, it goes to the floor, free to whoever wants it. Walk out with something new to you. We'll have Seamstress/Seamsters and tailors on hand for basic alterations. Resize, mend, embellish, they work for donations, not ticket prices. If something almost fits or just needs a little love, they've got you. Nothing sold. Nothing wasted. Just clothes finding people who'll actually wear them.

Community Garden: Preparing Garden for Winter

The end of the season doesn't end the garden's life; however, it is time to prepare it for winter. Cold hardy plants will be covered with row covers and gardeners are welcome to come and harvest, probably through December. We will be setting up the row covers and mulching beds with biomass and doing our last turning of the compost.

This is probably the most important session we will have. We will review the season and discuss what worked well and what didn't work well. How to improve for next season and what our goals will be. We will discuss what we will grow so that seeds and plants can be ordered. We will also put together a "Wish List" for what we'd like to invest in for the next season.
