InvolvedDad to Host Second Annual Fatherhood Legacy Luncheon Celebrating Engaged Fathers and Community Heroes: Former Michigan State football captain and NFL player Travis Key will deliver the keynote address during the August 20 event in downtown Flint
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – FLINT, MI — July 30, 2026 – InvolvedDad will host its Second Annual Fatherhood Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, August 20, 2026, bringing the community together to celebrate engaged fatherhood and recognize the men and partners making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families throughout Genesee County.The luncheon will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at The Durant, 607 E. Second Ave. in Flint. Tickets are $35.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Travis Key, chief operating officer of Pro Athlete Community, former Michigan State University football captain and former NFL player. Key will share a message centered on legacy, leadership and what it means to lead well both on and off the field.
“Fatherhood has the power to shape families, strengthen communities and influence generations,” said Shon Hart, executive director of InvolvedDad. “This luncheon gives us an opportunity to celebrate the fathers who continue to show up, recognize the people supporting them and remind our community that engaged fathers matter.”
The event will also spotlight InvolvedDad’s Community Heroes, everyday men and community partners whose leadership, service and commitment are helping families thrive across Genesee County. Fathers, mentors, service providers, community partners and anyone who believes in the importance of fatherhood are invited to attend an afternoon of connection, inspiration and celebration.
The Fatherhood Legacy Luncheon reflects InvolvedDad’s continued commitment to equipping fathers with the support, resources and opportunities they need to become more active and confident participants in their children’s lives. Through its programs and partnerships, the organization works to strengthen relationships between fathers and children while helping families build healthier and more stable futures.
